Live and Alone

mstol Catherine Wheel was always much better and fuller sonically live. Turns out the same is true of Rob. While there's nothing wrong with his studio output, his live performances just seem to give the music more space, presence and vitality. Favorite track: The Storm (live).

heckgermany Catherine Wheel should still be cranking out records (pun intended), but I'll take what I can get. Rob sounds really good and puts in a great performance on this live set. Favorite track: Eat My Dust You Insensitive Fuck (live).

Master of Alchemy The BRILLIANT Rob Dickinson performs a live solo acoustic set. RD was singer-songwriter with Catherine Wheel for the whole of their existence, a band I have loved since the 1993 release of LP Chrome, one of my all-time favourites. All CW LPs are represented here except the last one, but mostly the songs are from RD's solo 2005 LP Fresh Wine for the Horses. The songwriting is so strong and, with the stunning vocals, the songs easily transfer to acoustic and retain all of their emotional power. Favorite track: Crank (live).
